Key Difference between Predictive Dialer and Power Dialer

Both of these dialers automates the cold calling system. It automatically calls the number which is fetched from the system and then based on the integrated logic; it hands over the call to the agent. This makes sure only the calls attended by people is transferred to the agents or salesperson. It also saves their time from checking and manually dialing each number, wait for dial tone and the whole process until they reach an actual callee.
Now, let’s explore the difference between power dialer and predictive dialer
The power dialer is also known as Rapid dialer. It picks up a fed list in the system and start calling each number rapidly one by one. To understand the mechanism, here is the brief: it will make a call to a specific number which is fetched from the system, as soon as the call is answered or reached to the voicemail/ automated answering machine, it will move to the next number in the list and dial it and the process goes on.
The predictive dialerworks on a logic of making a prediction of the number of calls get answered and availability of agents. Based on the ratio, the predictive dialerwill dial multiple calls at the same time on different lines. This will ensure to decrease the idle time of any agent and increased productivity. This is one of the major benefits of the predictive dialerover power dialer.
While we are using predictive dialer, when the call gets connected to the callee, it takes a few seconds to hear the voice of a human and then route the call to the agent. This is to make sure that the agent gets the call if the human is on the next end instead of an automated answering machine or a voicemail. This mechanism increase productivity for sure, but at the same time it may annoy the callee as they need to say “hello” again and again until the machine detects the human voice and hand over the call to an agent. This sometimes also results in increased number of call drops. This is not the case with the power dialer. That is the advantage of the power dialer over predictive dialer.
